Dual booting G4 from separate partitions?

Still, good you got it together. G4s make good bridge systems if you run a mix of classic Mac OS and OS X software.

    Hey!

    Woof!

Dual booting G4 from separate partitions?

Holding down C to boot from disc should work (note that USB drives may or may not work). You need to do it as early as possible in the boot process - I usually have the key held down when I turn it on - and if the keyboard is connected through a hub or KVM, try connecting it directly.

Rare SYM-1 variant, likely the SM100, project in process

Interesting board! My only thought is you may be able to make some guesses from the schematics for a regular SYM-1, but it looks like you've already done some of that.

Finally, a PowerPC Windows CE device: the Data General WiiN-PAD

Ah, thanks for that (he calls it a "wiinpad" without the dash, so that's probably why I didn't run across it doing the research). The device itself definitely hyphenates its own name. I'll reach out to him to see if any of this jogs his memory but this one's provenance seems to be external to DG.

Finally, a PowerPC Windows CE device: the Data General WiiN-PAD

Where did you see that report? I don't think this came that route. Did the employee mention if these were actually released, or just prototypes?

Finally, a PowerPC Windows CE device: the Data General WiiN-PAD

I can't seem to find any record of any other one. Does anyone know? This appears to be the last computer hardware Data General made under their own name before the EMC buyout and is circa 1999. This was a device I found from an Atlanta-area scrapper. It runs Windows CE 2.12, has a Motorola...

How picky is NT 4.0 with CPUs?

Oh, I second that emotion. I made a lot of consulting money doing NT installs.

CE-158X, a more modern replacement for the Sharp CE-158 (and TRS-80 version)

Forgot to mention: got mine (in red) and it looks sweet. When I get a free minute imma try it out. :)

6o6: virtualizing the 6502 on the 6502 (and KIMplement 1.0)

Source code is, after twenty years (!), available. 6o6 provides a virtual NMOS 6502 on a 6502, 65C02 or 65816 in 8-bit mode. It completely abstracts memory access, allowing memory to be remapped, and it uses the host ALU for accurate results and flags. It supports all documented opcodes, can...

    Brother Super Power Note PN-8500MDS

    That's the PN-9000GR. It's basically a GeoBook like the NB-60 and NB-80C, but it's (confusingly) called a PowerNote.

    Panasonic HHC

The ones I have came from an insurance company (New York Life and probably others). I think I have the Microsoft BASIC ROM but not the SNAP one. I'd really like to find the video output box ...

C-128 Garbage screen in 40 column mode

It's interesting that the entire screen is covered with the same character (the colour comes from the RAM at $d800). Since you said the CIAs also tested good, if you type blindly at the C64 prompt POKE 56576,6, what do you see? It should be garbage, but it should not be all the same character.

How about the CIAs or MMU?

    AlphaMicro Systems AM1000, AM1200, & maybe AM100L drive replacement

I'm not near my own 1200 for a bit but I'll look when I get a chance (probably weekend after next).
