Floppy A is found but won't read disk.

Sure, the Order can be changed, just by squeezing another type connector pretty close to the existing connectors. Or you can make a longer cable so you have a connector of each type at the CENTER and END of the cable. Larry

Here are two samples of 10 Degree Top Viewing IR LED's that are 100ma MAX Current and 1.5 VDC Forward Voltage, with a MAX of 1.7 VDC. They are about 5.7mm OD. Amazon has some that are 3mm OD and a matched Source & Receiver. (No information about their Beam width or direction.)...

    Ampro A1 3032 board

Here is one Adapter from Amazon and there are some on EBAY. The EBAY one says it will not work with Sony VGA Multi-sync monitors. https://www.amazon.com/Dual-9-Pin-15-Pin-Adapter-Signals/dp/B0B33XNWW1 I've never tried any of these adapters. I did find some Apple Hard Drives on EBAY that are...

    Ampro A1 3032 board

After seeing all these Pictures of the backplane and all the Tantalum Capacitors it makes wonder if one of those could be pulling one of the power supply voltages down, but not shorted. When it is testing Memory and the message "PRESS ESC to ABORT", if you do nothing, how long will the memory...

Extracting *.cym, *.aym, *.dyc, *.tyt, *.lyr CP/M Files!

I stumbled across some unusual files that I had downloaded from the following URL: http://cpmarchives.classiccmp.org/cpm/Software/maslin/index_dirHTML.html#IDmaslin_c_d_3oct95-ddrive-sydex-ampro- There were several *.cym, *.aym, *.dyc, *.tyt, and *.lyr files, that needed to be extracted with...

How to trace/fix video RAM problems TRS-80 Model 1

ven, The Only test adapters that I know about are the Z80 NOP Tester and the Romulator. You can make a Z80 NOP tester by using a known good SPARE Z80. Bend the D{0..7} Pins out so they do not go into the Z80 IC Socket. Then Jumper D{0..7} to the GND pin on the Z80 CPU. Insert the Z80 with the...

    Ampro A1 3032 board

The Ampro Board is an A60267 and the EGA Card is A13022-B. Can you get into the SETUP for the A60267 Computer? Likely the Dallas DS12887 Real Time Clock battery has died and is preventing access. There are replacement RTC's available on Tindie by GLITCH...

    Superbrain/Elston monitor

Three things on the PCB side of the Elston Circuit Board look suspect. 1. There are solder Rings around several Pins that are soldered to the PCB Pads. Typically, a Ring around a Pins means a bad solder Joint. One of these is a 4 Pin Plug to some remote connection. All Solder connections...

    Epson SD800 not fully working

What type Floppy are you inserting into the 5.25" Floppy Drive" Double Density or High Density? 360K Double Density Floppy's have a center Hub Ring, Spin at 300 RPM, while 1.2M High Density do not have a center hub ring, and Spin at 360RPM. Deramp has an article on the SD-800...

TRS-80 Model 3 Disk Drive Issues

Brad, Nope, the Floppy's show up in Debian Linux as /def/fd0 and /dev/fd1. Debian communicates to the GreaseWeazle via a USB Cable as Device /dev/ttyACM0. A read command in Terminal is: $ ./gw read --tracks c=0-79:h=0-1 --device /dev/ttyACM0 --rate 250 A2-80.SCP Larry

TRS-80 Model 3 Disk Drive Issues

Brad, Yes, you can write the t3dt16_dsk.img directly to floppy just by using the "dd" command in Debian Linux. It is a *.RAW Image (Sector Dump) and HxC or the Imagedisk utilities (IMDA, and IMDU) can easily extract the .RAW file from the *.IMD file. I typically use a batch file in DOSBOX to...

    TRS-80 Model 4 Character Map

The Model 4 has 256 (0x00-0xFF) Characters arranged in an 8 x 8 matrix. Attached are the "A" & "a" Characters decoded from my Excel file. The remaining Characters are decoded in the same manner.
