Hi there,

I saw in some of the Toshiba laptop datasheets (e.g. Toshiba T1200) item called Floppy Link (PA7367E) and it supposed to be used to connect an external 5.25" FDD to a laptop.

I am really curious what this actually is.

Is this just a 25pin cable to connect FFDs like PA7224E or PA7225E or is it something that allows you to connect any external 5.25" FDD?

I hope someone has some info.

I am fairly certain that is just the 25pin cable. Works with almost any Toshiba external floppy drive; T1200 can't deal with high density drives. The pinouts for other external 5.25" drives may be different so no way to guarantee success.

http://oldcomputer.info/portables/t1200/index.htm shows the external floppy pinouts so it may be possible to build your own adapter even with non-Toshiba external drives at the other end.
