Hi,
I've just come into possession of a Kaypro 4/84 (P/N 81-015) with a 81-292 boot ROM and a Finnish/Swedish character generator ROM of that I'd like to replace with an English one because character-based graphics end up looking a bit funky with accented Scandinavian characters.
The Kaypro Technical Manual from August '84 states (on page 6--36) that the 4/84 (81-184-n) has a 81-235 character PROM. Does this also apply to P/N 81-015? Secondly, is the Kaypro picky about which kind of 2732 EPROM it's paired with? Does access speed matter, or can I throw just about any make of chip in and it'll be happy with it?
I'd also like to give the KayPlus ROM a spin. I assume that like for the character generator, any 8 Kb 2764 EPROM (e.g. an AMD AM2764A or a ST M2764A) will do, correct?
Thanks for your help!
