Hi all

I need one of these, they're too expensive for my tastes (30€+ shipped..) and it appears there are enough DIY projects out there to attempt to make one myself.

Specs, schematics:

Connector:

In my scrap parts box, I found a 9 core cable. My question is: which of the SIO lines aren't really needed in the commonly available Atari 400/800 hardware? In the specs sheet, according to note one quite a few but I wanted to have a quick sanity check if that holds true:

If I leave out any "not required or "not implemented" and tie the grounds together, I end up with 9 wires for the rest. I would like the cable to be compatible with at least a floppy drive and cassette player.

Thanks for your help

I built the cable as suggested by omitting the +12V and the not required and not implemented lines. It seeems to work. There's still an issue with my floppy drive for which I'll open another thread
